Description
Growing up on the west side of Chicago in the 90s, Arshay Cooper spent as much time dodging bullets as taking classes. Day-to-day survival was difficult enough, and breaking into the elite, white world of rowing crew was the last thing on his mind.
But walking out of school one day, he spots a pile of pizza and a poster inviting him to “Join the Crew Team”. He decides to give it a try, setting him on an inspirational journey to becoming captain of America’s first all-Black rowing team.
